Students studied the text about eating habits of ancient Greeks. They read about their meals, duration of them, when they were served and how they varied. They learned about ingredients commonly used and rules which were usually followed. Next, in groups they had to come up with menus for a specific person - a teenager, wealthy man, pregnant woman, worker, etc. They had to take into consideration amount of calories they needed, that is:  an age of this person, gender, their occupation or wealthiness. After displaying posters students made their own meals using ingredients they had brought from home, they made Greek pancakes served with sesame and honey, salads, snacks made of raisins and nuts. They ate their meals together In this way they could have had a glimpse into ancient Greek eating habits. Finally, during regular classes they agreed on 10 rules of healthy eating and compared them with the Greek ones.
