Students from our high school, together with students from Portugal, visited the Natural History and Sciences “GrigoreAntipa” Museum in Bucharest.

There they learnt about the evolution of man and of many animal species. They discovered natural habitats of animals from all over the world, since the dinosaurs.

They discussed about their favourite animals, if they have pets, how geography influences through climate the development of species. It was a good opportunity for the students to compare the fauna from the two countries, Romania and Portugal, and spot similarities and differences.

At the museum students saw all the stages of the evolution of man, until the Homo sapiens, and their particularities. They understood the differences and were amazed it took such a long time for man to become as today. They learnt about the different places man used to live in (caves, huts and so on), ways he had of expressing emotion (paintings, dancing and so on) and discovered that art was a part of man since beginning of time.

It was a meaningful activity because the students realized the importance of knowing the past in order to prepare for the future.
